The City of London will take part in London Pride parade for first time ever
The City of London Corporation will be making history this Saturday.
The City of London will be taking part in London’s Pride parade for the first time ever.
As the rainbow flag flies over several iconic City landmarks including The Mansion House, Central Criminal Court, Tower Bridge and Guildhall, the City of London has announced they’ll be making history.
Staff and Elected Members from the Square Mile’s governing body will join in the Pride parade celebrations this Saturday (July 7).
Representatives from the City of London Corporation’s family of schools and academies as well as from the City of London Police will also appear.
Alderman Tim Hailes, Sheriff of London, said: “This year for the first time in our 950-year history the City of London Corporation will take part in the Pride in London Parade to demonstrate our support for the LGBT+ community.”
“And be in no doubt, our participation will be thoroughly inclusive standing together, shoulder to shoulder, with the whole LGBT+ community.”
He continued: “The City of London Corporation is hugely proud to be part of Pride. And if you are taking part on Saturday 7th, may I wish you a fantastic day and I’ll see you there.”
