The son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White is set to face a trial for using ‘abusive’ racist and homophobic comments at Paddington station.
Marco Pierre White Jr, 23, was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ court on Friday (December 14) after he was accused of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in November this year.
However, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant failed to appear and was not represented by a solicitor, the London Economic reporter.
White Jr now faces being convicted of hate crime at a trial next month.
Prosecutor Katie Bryan said: “We are treating it as a hate crime – both homophobic and racial.”
Magistrate Nina Tempia set a date for the new hearing and said that if he fails to attend a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
Tempia said: “He’s got to be at Hendon at 9.30am on the 25 January next year for his trial.
“Let him know if he doesn’t attend a warrant could be put out for his arrest and if he doesn’t attend it could go ahead in his absence.”
