‘The X Factor’s Nicholas McDonald announces debut album

runner-up Nicholas McDonald has announced details of his debut album.

The 17-year-old will release his first LP, titled Arms of an Angel, via RCA Records on March 10.

The album will feature a selection of cover versions, including Adele’s Someone Like You, Westlife’s Flying Without Wings and Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars.

However, it will also include three original tracks that Nicholas has been working on since losing out to Sam Bailey in last month’s X Factor final.

Nicholas said: “When I found out that I was signing to RCA I was over the moon as I knew that they worked with some of the biggest artists in the world. It feels absolutely amazing to be recording my own album and I can’t wait to get it out there and give something back to all the fans who have supported me from the very start.”

Champ Sam Bailey is also expected to release her album in early 2014.
