Tiffany Trump’s ‘Trump Pride’ speech is a car crash you can’t look away from
Note the distinct lack of 'T' in "LGBQIA+".
Tiffany Trump has been widely mocked for a cringeworthy ‘Trump Pride’ speech.
The daughter of US President Donald Trump – who is seeking reelection on 3 November 2020 – appeared at the LGBTQ+ Republican event in Tampa, Florida.
A video of her addressing attendees surfaced online yesterday.
“He supported gays and lesbians, the LGBQIA+ community, OK?”
Taking to the stage to a soundtrack of the Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling (so, already unbearable) Tiffany waved, danced and blew kisses before telling the (small) crowd: “It’s such an honour to be here and speak truthfully and honestly form my heart.
“I know what my father believes in, prior to politics, he supported gays and lesbians, the LGBQIA+ community, OK?”
The 27-year-old, whose mother is TV personality Marla Maples, continued: “People, unfortunately you see social media, these fabricated lies… It saddens me.
“I have friends of mine who reach out and they make up stories. ‘How would you support your father? We know you. We know your best friends are gay. We know your best friends are this, this, this.'”
Tiffany said: “My father has always supported all of you. He’s never done it for politics and he’s not doing it for politics. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of people out there, other politicians who do.”

‘All mentions of LGBTQ issues were removed from the official White House webpage’
A dedicated webpage on the Human Rights Campaign site called ‘Trump’s Timeline of Hate’ lists all of the times the 78-year-old has “attacked the progress” of LGBTQ+s.
On 20 January 2017, for example, “less than two hours after Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were sworn into office, all mentions of LGBTQ issues were removed from the official White House webpage.”
Then, on 26 July 2017, “Trump made the dangerous and unpatriotic move to reinstate a ban on qualified transgender people serving in the military. His reprehensible action, announced in a series of tweets, could result in the discharge of more than 15,000 transgender Americans currently serving our country. The move, a blatant political maneuver to appeal to the most radical in Trump’s base, will undermine military morale and readiness.”
