Toronto police find more human remains in Bruce McArthur investigation
The 66-year-old landscape gardener faces eight first-degree murder charges
Toronto police have found more human remains in connection to suspected gay serial killer Bruce McArthur.
The 66-year-old landscape gardener was arrested in January and charged with the murders of two men before police discovered human remains of seven men in planters at a property McArthur had worked at.
Police in Toronto, Canada, revealed this week that they had found more human remains in a forest ravine located behind the same property.
However, police cannot yet say whether the newly discovered remains belong to victims already identified or a new one.
Lead investigator Detective Sergeant Hank Idsinga said in a statement: “Yesterday afternoon, human remains were located at one of the first digging sites. We haven’t identified what the remains are of who they belonged to.”
Since McArthur’s arrest, police have searched over 100 properties that were associated with the 66-year-old. Although the remains of the eighth man have yet to be found, McArthur faces eight first-degree murder charges.
The men so far identified include Selim Esen, Skandaraj Navaratnam, Andrew Kinsman, Majeed Kayhan, Dean Lisowick, Soroush Mahmudi, Abdulbasir Faizi and Kirushna Kanagaratnam.
McArthur is scheduled to appear in court on July 23 while the investigation continues.
