Toronto ‘serial killer’ Bruce McArthur has been charged with the murders of three more gay men

An alleged Toronto gay serial killer has been charged with the deaths of three more men.
Bruce McArthur was arrested and charged earlier this month with the first-degree murder of two gay men who disappeared from Toronto’s gay village last year.
McArthur, 66, has now been charged for the additional deaths of Majeed Kayhan, 58, Soroush Marmudi, 50, and Dean Lisowick, 47, bringing the total number of victims to five, though police still believe there are more victims.
Toronto Detective Sergeant Hank Idsinga revealed police found the dismembered remains of “at least” three victims in the back garden of a home in which McArthur worked as a landscaper.

Marmudi was reported missing by his family in August 2015. Lisowick reportedly stayed in shelters around Toronto and never went missing, but is believed to have been murdered between May and 2016 and July 2017.
Meanwhile, Kayhan was one of three men whose disappearance from the Church Wellesley Village was investigated by police in 2012.
According to NBC News, police have plans to search 30 properties McArthur had previously worked at.

Speaking to NBC, Idsinga said: “The city of Toronto has never seen anything like this. It is unprecedented and draining. He’s an alleged serial killer and he’s taken some steps to cover his tracks.”
He added: “It encompasses more than the gay community. It encompasses the City of Toronto.”
“This is totally beyond anything I’d feared,” author and longtime crime observer James Dubro told the Toronto Sun. “We could be talking Gacy and Dahmer territory here.”
McArthur was charged over the deaths of Andrew Kinsman, 49, and Selim Essen, 44, earlier this month and it was later discovered that Kinsman and McArthur were involved in a sexual relationship for “some time”.
However, authorities remain uncertain about the “exact nature” of McArthur’s relationship with Essen.
