Trans woman murdered in Russia days after wedding

By Josh Lee

Raina Aliev was murdered days after marrying her partner, GayStarNews reports.

The circumstances of her death have not been confirmed, however it is known that her body was unrecognisable when discovered. She leaves behind her husband, Victor.

According to reports, her father, Alimshaikh Aliev had gone on television to call for her murder because of her identity. He misgendered his daughter a number of times during his speech.

The Daily Mail reports that Raina had warned police about the murder threat.

He said: “Bring him here and kill him in front of my eyes.

“Let him be killed, I don’t want to see him. Bring him here and kill him in front of my eyes.”

A neighbour, who also repeatedly misgendered Raina, told news site Russian Dialog that Raina’s father had called for the 25-year-old to be killed.

“He cheated them, he went there to Moscow, had surgery and he turned from a boy to a girl,” he said.

“And now in Chechnya it is known too. His mother is saying ‘I don’t want to see him, I gave birth to a son, but what for? It is such a disgrace for the family’.”

“If the mother and father give a purman, it means they want him to be killed.’
