Two men have been convicted for “performing unnatural acts”, a Zambian court rules.
Stephen Sambo, 30, and Japhet Chataba, 38, were found guilty of homosexuality today (August 3) after they were arrested last August and are set to be sentenced by a higher court.
They were convicted on a testimony of a hotel employee who claimed she saw the pair having sex through a window, the Times Live reported.
Prosecutors also brought videos and photographs of the men.
The conviction is the latest ruling in the African nation which has resisted pressure to lift its tough anti-gay laws.
President Edgar Lungu has outspokenly discriminated against gay rights, despite pressure from donor countries who provide aid to Zambia.
People convicted of same-sex relations face up jail sentences of up to 14 years in Zambia.
