They will appear before Bexley Magistrates' Court this month

By Steve Brown

Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a homophobic hate crime on a tube.

The two boys, aged 16 and 17, abused a man with homophobic language before beating him on the Jubilee line at North Greenwich station last October.

According to police, the victim was put into a headlock and forced to apologise “for being gay”.

The 17 year old has been charged with a public order offence and the other boy has been charged with assault by beating.

Both boys are set to appear before Bexley Magistrates’ Court on May 11.
