An Uber driver allegedly dragged a man along a busy street after he hugged his husband in the car.
Taray Carey and his husband Alex Majkowski were travelling along East 4th Street this week, when their Uber driver suddenly launched into a hate-filled rant calling the couple ‘f*****s’ after hugging each other, WNBC reported.
Carey said he asked the driver: “What’s your problem’ and he’s telling us in his country we would be beheaded and left for dead.”
While stopping at a red light, they tried to leave the car but Carey was left hanging on, partway outside the car, as the driver put his foot down on the accelerator.
Carey continued: “He floored it and gunned forward, dragging me half a block down East 4th Street.”
His husband pleaded with the driver to let them leave and said: “I said, ‘Let me out, let me out, let me out’ just over and over until he stopped.”
Police were called but the couple claimed officers failed to investigate it as a hate crime.
Carey was refunded the $17.46 for his trip from hell, and Uber was probing the complaint,
