Uganda police arrest eight-year-old girl for ‘lesbianism’

By Fabio Crispim

An eight-year-old girl has been placed in police custody after being accused of ‘lesbianism’.

According to All Africa, the Jinja Police Child Family Protection Unit states that they apprehended the girl because she was seeking “romantic relationships” with other girls her age.

A neighbour allegedly spied on the girl as she repeatedly “lured” friends to a farm near her house and once there, the girls would “engage in inappropriate behaviour”.

It’s also alleged that incidents have been taking place in school toilets and police are now investigating claims that someone “influenced” her and instructed her to pass on the knowledge to friends.

Ms Wobuyaga, the officer in charge of Child Family Protection Unit, has warned parents to watch out for adults who lure underage children into “illicit relationships.”

Male and female homosexuality is illegal in Uganda.
