US cookie brand combats anti-gay comments with love video

US cookie brand Honey Maid has responded to anti-gay comments provoked by its recent advertising campaign with a video promoting a simple message of “love”.
Launched last month (March), Honey Maid’s “This is Wholesome” TV advert featured a variety of different families including a gay male couple raising a baby.
Although the advert was received positively by many viewers, its YouTube page also attracted a number of negative comments with homophobic sentiments.
“I feel bad for the kids,” wrote one commenter, while another branded the advert “disgusting”.
In response, Honey Maid has made a video which shows the comments written down onto sheets of paper, rolled up into tubes and used to spell out the word “LOVE”.
“We made a commercial about what makes families, family. And we received a lot of comments. See what we did with them,” Honey Maid explains. Watch the video below.
