By Will Stroude
Celebrities have shared their coming out stories in an emotional video for LGBT youth charity The Albert Kennedy Trust.
Stars including Charlie Condou, Duncan James, Lucy Spraggan and Stephen K Amos have drawn upon their own experiences to help raise awareness for the charity, which provides support and accommodation LGBT young people aged 16-25 who are either homeless, or severely at risk at home just for being brave enough to come out.
You can watch the stars imagine what they would have done if they’d been rejected by their families in the video below:
The Albert Kennedy Trust receives over 1,500 calls for support each year across London, Manchester and Newcastle, and in the last year has provided more than 8000 nights off the street for vulnerable LGBT youth.
The chairty – which has seen demand increase by 160% over the last 12 months – is looking for much-needed support over the coming winter months. For more information about how to fundraise, donate or volunteer visit akt.org.uk.
