Watch: Drunk student hurls anti-gay slurs during rant over mac and cheese

By Will Stroude

A college student’s drunken meltdown over being denied mac and cheese in his university’s cafeteria has gone viral after footage on the incident was posted online.

The video of 19-year-old University of Connecticut student Luke Gatti verbally abusing the “faggy fag” cafeteria manager has been viewed more than 1.5 million times in less than three days.

After being denied service because he’s in possession of alcohol and clearly inebriated – despite being under the legal drinking age in the States – Gatti proceeds to face off with the cafeteria’s manager, during which time he gives his clearly extensive lexicon a workout by calling him a “f*cking fag” “faggy fag” and a “faggy cafeteria manager”.

As things escalate and he attempts to push the manager, a heroic member of staff manages to pin him down, yelling “You don’t touch my boss!” The police were called shortly after, and charged him with second-degree breach of peace and first-degree criminal trespass, the Hartford Courant reports.

“Upon arrival police saw Gatti being detained by Union Street Market employees,” the police report reads. “Police took Gatti into custody and learned through statements that Gatti had been refused service due to drinking alcohol in the market.

“After being told to leave several times, Gatti refused and became verbally and physically abusive with staff. Gatti shoved the manager several times before he was detained by staff.”
