Watch | Freddie Mercury’s a cappella rendition of We Are The Champions

It’s hard to believe that 2016 will mark 25 years since the passing of Queen sensation Freddie Mercury as the legacy and presence of his music continues to carry across popular culture today.
In a very special clip, Playback FM have created an absolutely stunning version of We Are The Champions, which sees all of the instrumental elements of the iconic track stripped away to just feature Mercury’s distinctive and emotive vocals, Pink News reports.
Published to Youtube, the video has already been watched over three million times.
The vision which accompanies the audio track was edited and later synced together from concert footage, and a rare recording session of We Are The Champions.
Among his accolades as the front man of Queen, Mercury was recognised with a 1990 Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
He died of AIDS-related bronchial pneumonia on November 24, 1991, at the age of 45.
