Watch: Gay men react to the word ‘marriage’
By Micah Sulit
In a new clip from Cut Video, 30 gay men wax lyrical as they share what they associate with the word ‘marriage’.
“Equality” and “love” were among the most common responses. Several participants expressed a desire to tie the knot someday and acknowledged recent strides towards equal marriage.
“It’s been so exciting watching American attitudes shift in favor of marriage equality,” one man said. “I’m excited to see that momentum keep building, keep growing.”
For another man, however, marriage is “non-existent”. He said, “I feel like marriage is something people don’t necessarily think about anymore when they’re in a relationship.”
The video makers recently explored how the word ‘f*ggot’ makes gay men feel, and whether the slur can ever truly be reclaimed – click here to find out more.
