Watch: Sheffield bouncer tells student to feed ‘gay’ man to dogs

By Will Stroude

A bouncer in Sheffield has been caught on camera telling a student to take a ‘gay’ man home and feed him to his dogs.

During an ongoing incident at the city’s Corporation night club last Friday (February 20), second-year chemistry student Rory Barker claims he was he was left with a black eye after being hit across the face by an unidentified member of staff, before being called a “gayboy” and told to “fuck off” when he reported the incident to bouncers outside the venue.

In footage taken during the alleged incident, a bouncer can be heard gesturing to a man outside the club and telling another patron: “If you want to take a gay boy home with you… If you want to take a gay man home with you… you can feed him to your dogs.”

“It was like being in a boxing match.” Rory told The Tab. “I ended up having to cover my face as he tried to upper cut me, and got punched in the side instead.

“I was then escorted outside where we asked the bouncers if they thought their colleague’s behaviour was ok, and they responded by telling us to fuck off.”

He added: “I was then asked by one of them if I was a gay boy, and when I replied ‘No, not that it matters’… they replied, ‘Are you sure? You look like a slimy little gay’.”

“I was too astonished and incredulous to their open homophobic comments to feel angry or embarrassed.”

Corporation night club have since suspended the bouncer shown in the footage, and described the incident as “unacceptable”.

“This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable by all here at Corporation,” said a statement on the venue’s Facebook page. “We pride ourselves as a venue that does not discriminate against any group, regardless of creed, colour or orientation.”

South Yorkshire police are investigating the incident.
