Westboro Baptist Church have recorded a version of Let It Go, the Oscar-winning song from Disney’s Frozen – attempting to turn it into a protest song against gay marriage.

The notorious anti-gay organisation is famous for its ‘God Hates Fags’ tagline, and regularly pickets funerals of people that it believes support the rights of the LGBT community.

Its followers maintain that homosexuality is the root of all evil in the world, and claim that the deaths in tragic events such as 9/11 are down to the progression of the gay rights movement.

Westboro have previously recorded their own versions of hit songs such as Lorde’s Royals and Katy Perry’s Roar.

Now they have taken on the Frozen hit made famous by John Travolta’s favourite singer, Idina Menzel, which has been adopted as something of a coming out anthem in the US since its release last year. Lyrics to Westboro’s “spoof” version include: “Don’t let it be, be the one who says ‘no fag marriage’, appeal, don’t deal, don’t let this go!”

Meanwhile, Westboro Baptist Church have announced plans to picket Cher’s concert in Kansas City later today (May 31) because they believe she “panders to fags/dykes”.

Earlier this year, a US right-wing radio host attacked Frozen – now the fifth-highest grossing movie of all time – because he thinks it will “indoctrinate kids into lesbianism”.
