White House, Niagra Falls lit up in rainbow Pride flag colours

By Ryan Love

American landmarks including the White House and the Empire State Building have been lit up with the rainbow Pride flag, following yesterday’s historic ruling.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to legally marry across all 50 states, a move celebrated across the world.

Crowds gathered to view The White House throughout the evening, with an official explaining that the lights had been done “to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to progress and equality, here in America and around the world.

“The pride colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, and tonight, these colors celebrate a new chapter in the history of American civil rights.”
