Will Aydian Dowling be the first trans Men’s Health cover model?

Aydian Dowling is in the running to be the first trans model to be on the cover of Men’s Health magazine.
Dowling, who previously garnered attention after he recreated Adam Levine’s near-naked photoshoot, is currently leading the US magazine’s search for the “ultimate guy”.
The contest, which Dowling currently leads by around 14,000 votes, is looking to find a man who is “fit and fearless, a doer who gives back and leads by example”.
In his model profile on the competition website, Dowling says that his battle with the mirror can sometimes be “dark and engulfing”.
“The battle that can come with the mirror can be completely dark and engulfing. As a Transgender Male, having a healthy body and mind is my ultimate goal to find peace within my soul. Although I may always have some kind of battle with my body, I continue to work everyday for a happy peace within.”
