A woman has been jailed in Senegal after uploading a six second video of two men having sex.
The 20-year-old woman uploaded the video to Snapchat after claiming she heard some “suspicious noise” and shot the short video and sent it to a friend on the social media site.
According to Sene News, two men and two women were arrested – one of them sentenced for more than two years – but the woman, who received a two year and three-month sentence, admitted she would never have uploaded if she knew it would cause trouble.
She said: “I went to see him. I heard some suspicious noise.
“This is where I took my cellphone to film the scene without their knowledge and then transferred it to a girlfriend.
“I’m sorry. It was the first time I saw boys indulging in such a practice. I had subsequently deleted the video.
“I did not know it could cause us all this trouble.”
Current in Senegal the law bans same-sex relations and is punishable by up to five years in prison and fines of around US $2,500.

“The Senegalese candidates and government needs to be held accountable for their homophobic stance and the human rights violations being perpetrated as a platform for election.
