Wrestling legend Pat Patterson comes out as gay

Wrestling legend Pat Patterson has come out as gay in an emotional scene in a WWE reality show. Watch it below.

Patterson – real name Pierre Clermont – is a former professional wrestler who was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame in 1996. He retired at the age of 59 in 2000.

Now 73, the Canadian currently works for the WWE as a creative consultant.

Patterson spoke openly about his sexuality for the first time during the season finale of WWE reality show Legends’ House, which aired on Thursday (June 12).

“Sitting here tonight, I’m going to say something that I would never want to say publicly,” Patterson said. “But being here with you guys, for once in my life, I’m going to be me now. I survived all this being gay.”

He added: “I gave my life to the business, I don’t regret nothing. For the rest of my life, I want to be happy.”
