Young trans man creates awesome coming out video for friends and family
A 24-year-old Australian man has put together a great little coming out video which uses a light hearted approach to educate his friends, family and strangers online about what it means to be a transgender man.
In the explainer video complete with motion graphics and titles, Henry Tadebois from Melbourne tells his nearest and dearest: “You might know me from school, or work. Or maybe you’re a member of my family!”
He continues: “Now you may have heard of this acronym [LGBTQIA], commonly used to refer to the queer community – and up until now, I have represented the ‘L’.
“But actually, I hail from a different twinkle in the rainbow.”
Tadebois explains he will go by the name ‘Henry’ from now on, and understands it may take a little getting used to. “You may slip up in the beginning, but don’t worry, I won’t be offended. It doesn’t happen overnight,” he adds.
“Don’t be afraid to ask me any questions you might have, and just so you know, this doesn’t change my personality traits, mannerisms or even bad habits.
“I’ll still be the same person you’ve always known.”
