Blue cancel planned appearance at Glasgow Pride
By Josh Haggis
Blue have cancelled their scheduled appearance at Glasgow Pride this year.
The former Attitude cover stars were set to top a line-up that also includes X Factor alumni Amelia Lily and Lucy Spraggan. The event takes place this year on July 19, at a new location within King Street in the city centre.
“This news is disappointing and we are currently sourcing a replacement,” said Pride Glasgow CEO Alastair Smith in a statement on the event’s website.
He continued: “I would like to clarify for the benefit of doubt that this decision was not related to any contractual or fee issues but due to issues beyond our control relating to an unexpected issue with the band’s availability.”
“Despite the news we are still set on having the biggest LGBT event in Glasgow this Summer,” he reassured Pride-goers.
Glasgow Pride’s main event takes place on July 19 and tickets, priced at £5 each, are available at www.prideglasgow.co.uk
