Eurovision’s Joe and Jake to headline Reading Pride 2016
By Will Stroude
Joe and Jake, the singing duo who formed after meeting on series of BBC One’s The Voice before going on to represent the UK at Eurovision earlier this year, are headlining this year’s Reading Pride festival.
Joe Woolford, a former secondary school PE assistant, sent Rita Ora’s red chair spinning round on the voice because of his passion for singing, and rapping. Jack Shakeshaft left his job at a garden centre when he was chosen by will.i.am.
The pair formed a duo after The Voice had finished, and were later selected to represent the UK in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with their catchy tune ‘You Are Not Alone’. Such was the hype surrounding the boys, that they were signed to Sony Music before the competition had even taken place.
Reading Pride takes place on September 3. For more information, click here.
