Marriott hotels appoint drag queen concierge

Marriott UK is continuing to show its support for the LGBT community with the appointment of a Drag Queen Concierge, who will welcome guests at hotels during Pride weekends.

Throughout July and August, renowned drag queen Anna Phylactic will join the hotel teams to check-in guests, direct them to their room and give hints and advice on the best places to enjoy Pride in the cities.

Anna will be working at the Marriott hotels in Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow, as well as the Renaissance hotel in Manchester, throughout the respective PRIDE events.

“After our recent success winning Brand of The Year at the LGBT Awards, we wanted to go one step further for guests staying with us over the Pride events,” said Laura Philps of Marriott UK.

“By employing someone who is so central to the LGBT community we are able to give customers the best advice on the popular bars, the number of late-night taxi services and the most relaxing places to visit after partying has finished – ultimately facilitating the best possible Pride experience.”

Anna herself says she’s quite thrilled about her new role: “Who better to tell you the best places to go during Pride events than a Drag Queen?
