Made in Chelsea's JP Patterson talks about he uses exercise to help battle mental health issues

The collection stars Josh ‘JP Patterson, from Made in Chelsea, who spoke to us about how he uses excersise to overcome anxiety and depression
How does excercise help with your anxiety and depression?
JP Excersie has saved my life and continues to help me every single day. Without fitness I think I’d be in a pretty dark place. It levels me out massively, and Binks (Binky Felstead, his MIC co-star and the mother of his daughter) is incredibly supportive.
What advice would you have for people looking to do fitness as a way of helping their anxiety or depression?
JP What can be quite tricky with something like anxiety, is that every person is different; what works for me won’t work for someone else and could even have a negative effect on them.
My advice would be trial and error- find what works for you. Sometimes you find it quite quickly and sometimes it takes doing a few things that you don’t enjoy to get to that place.
You’ve got to find your thing, get a routine in place and set yourself goals – it can be as simple as going for a walk; it doesn’t have to be anything too strenuous.
Do you have a favourite piece from the HIIT collection?
JP: There are so many pieces in the range that I genuinely like, but what’s great about the product is the fit.
They’ve tailored the items so well: the t-shirts are amazing, the jumpers and the hoodies- which can sometimes look too baggy on me- are nice and the aulaity of the product is great too.
They’ve made a very adaptable range which tailors to everything. Lots of people buy into this industry not beayse they want to be professional athletes, but becaus ehtye just want a nice pair of leggings and a good hoodie while on the treadmill.
