25. Declan McKenna

By Peter Sturt

Declan McKenna rose to fame in 2015 after winning Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent Competition and is known for being as politically engaged as he is talented. His first single, Brazil, criticised the awarding of the World Cup to a country with deep-rooted poverty and inequality. His second single and break-out hit, Paracetamol, was widely applauded for its focus on how trans teenagers are misrepresented in the media. But you never know, if you manage to snap him up, he might write you a love song.
