Ariana Grande denies Jessie J ‘The Boy Is Mine’ collaboration

Ariana Grande has denied rumours she is recording a cover of Brandy and Monica’s 1998 classic The Boy Is Mine.
It was reported last month (November) that Grande was set to reunite with Bang Bang collaborator Jessie J to record the cover for a new project from Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, who is working on greatest hits collection that will feature new versions of some of the biggest hits he has produced. Speaking to Capital FM today (December 2), Grande has suggested that the track is too iconic to be covered by anyone.
“No that’s such [a rumour], the Break Free singer said. “It’s a classic, it should remain untouched. I’m a humongous fan of that song and Brandy is one of my favourite vocalists ever.”
The 21-year-old recently clashed with legendary entertainer Bette Midler, who said the starlet of “doesn’t need to act like a whore” in order to succeed – read more here.
