Barbra Streisand and Hugh Jackman come together for ‘Any Moment Now’ – WATCH
Barbra Streisand and Hugh Jackman have come together for a brand new track from her upcoming album.
A video released on Streisand’s VEVO gives fans a small preview of ‘Any Moment Now’ as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the song which was written for the stage musical ‘Smile’.
In it, Streisand explains that ‘Any Moment Now’ was the first song she chose for the album as it gave her “something to act” and was the perfect reason to “use actors who act and sing”.
She said, “Being an actress, I like to sing songs that give me something to act, this song was about a couple that was not communicating.”
“I heard the song and I thought, this is a way for me to use actors who act and sing with Broadway material. So, the first person I thought of was Hugh Jackman.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Jackman said he just “stared at his phone” when he got the email.
“I was like, ‘I don’t know how on Earth this has happened.'”
The album, ‘Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway’, is set for a release in August and will feature other Hollywood stars such as Daisy Ridley, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy, Jamie Foxx and more.
