Cher praises Cher Lloyd’s drugs-themed ‘Sirens’ video
By Josh Haggis
Ultimate gay icon Cher has praised Cher Lloyd’s portrayal of drug abuse in the video for her new single Sirens.
The video was released earlier this week (April 29) and sees the X Factor singer play a troubled young mother living with her drug dealer boyfriend and their young daughter.
After being encouraged to watch the video by a fan, Cher tweeted at her younger namesake yesterday (May 3), saying she understood the message in the harrowing video – and explaining that she “went through it” herself:
Sirens is the second single to be taken from Lloyd’s upcoming second album Sorry, I’m Late, following the US-only single I Wish. The singer’s first album Sticks + Stones was released in 2011 and featured the global smash Want U Back, as well as UK hits With Ur Love and Swagger Jagger.
