South African/Canadian model Mias from Next Model Management came in for a casting, so we got him to take his shirt off and asked him about everything from his favourite book to his business ventures…he’s quite the entrepreneur, it would seem!

What are you reading at the moment? At the moment I’m reading Sugar Detox but my favourite book is Shantaram – it’s about a guy that escapes from prison and goes to live in the ghetto in India. It’s all about him getting integrated into the Indian lifestyle and it’s made me really want to go there.
Where were you discovered? In Cape Town. I actually was dating a girl and she walked me into the agency and they asked me if I wanted to start!
What’s your favourite thing about being a model? Being able to travel.
What’s the worst? No job security.
What can you not live without? My friends.
What gets you angry? I’m quite relaxed, but politics in my country gets me angry.
What are you always getting in trouble for? For putting too much on my plate at once. I’m studying to be a medical doctor specialising in anaesthetics, and I’m working on some business ventures. We’re doing a clothing range in South Africa, it’s more modern, street London-style with a South African twist. We’ve already got the designs and made our first load of stuff, but we’re working on the quality checks !
