Shooting is now complete on the eagerly-anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey film.
EL James, the British author of the best-selling erotic novel upon which the film is based, shared the news with her 500,000 Twitter followers yesterday (February 21).
“It’s a wrap…” she tweeted, before posting a picture of herself with the film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Taylor-Johnson, who previously directed John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy, began shooting at the start of December in Vancouver, Canada and the film is scheduled for release on Valentine’s Day, 2015.
Former Calvin Klein model Jamie Dornan was quickly cast as Christian Grey when Charlie Hunnam dropped out last October (2013). He is seen in the poster that appears to the right.
Dakota Johnson (Ben and Kate) will co-star as Anastasia Steele, the college student who is seduced by powerful businessmen Christian Grey, while the supporting cast includes Jennifer Ehle, Marcia Gay Harden, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Rita Ora, who is providing a song for the soundtrack.
Since they were first published in 2011, the three Fifty Shades novels by EL James – real name Erika Mitchell – have collectively sold over 70 million copies worldwide.
