Four healthy, delicious protein shake recipes
There’s no reason a protein shake has to be a boring add-on to your workout. Mix up your flavours and it can be the post-workout reward that keeps your powering through! Here are four winning recipes, provided by our friends at Optimum Nutrition, available from Bodybuilding.com:
Vanilla Coffee Shake
1 ½ cups low-fat milk
2 scoops ON Gold Standard Whey
½ cup low-fat, coffee flavoured ice cream
Soy Almond Shake
1 Scoop ON Gold Standard Whey protein powder
1 cup light soy milk
1 tbsp slivered almonds
1 tsp sugar-free maple syrup
Three drops vanilla extract
1 handful ice
1tbsp low-fat Greek yogurt (optional)
Strawberry Energy Shake
1 ½ cups water
10 strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 scoop ON Gold Standard Whey
Sweetener to taste (optional)
1 handful ice (optional)
Peanut Butter Chocolate Shake
2 scoops ON Gold Standard Whey
1 tsp creamy peanut butter
2 cups non-fat milk
