Geri Halliwell on career: ‘I think I took my eye off the ball’
By Sam Rigby
Geri Halliwell has spoken about the poor performance of her most recent single Half of Me.
Released last October, Half of Me served as the Spice Girl’s first solo release in eight years, but was only released in Australia, where she is a judge on Australia’s Got Talent.
The single peaked at number 281 in the country, selling only 393 copies during its first week on sale.
Speaking to Metro about the song, Halliwell said: “I think I took my eye off the ball with that release but my fans still want it.”
Halliwell’s Spice Girls bandmate Mel B was confirmed as the fourth and final judge on this year’s X Factor panel this morning (June 11).
Both singers are keen to mark the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls’ debut single Wannabe in 2016, with Mel B saying that it “would be a shame” if they didn’t reunite.
