Henry Cavill says that his post-Superman thighs can do some damage
By Ryan Love
Henry Cavill knows exactly how powerful his thighs are.
Oh yes, in an interview with Shortlist, the British actor admitted that his workout regieme for playing Superman in Man of Steel had caused a little trouble.
The exchange began with the interviewer asking Cavill if his muscles – those same muscles from that work out video – had ever ripped anything he owned. Knowingly, the actor asked who the question was from and that it had come from a male fan.
“I had a suit tailored for the Immortals premiere. At that stage, I was at my very leanest,” he recalled.
“It was just after shooting my shirtless scenes [for Man of Steel]. At the very end of the movie, I put that suit on again for a photoshoot we were doing and I ripped the seams, the inside seams, just because my thighs were that much bigger.”
That was a sadly not a bonus feature on the DVD.
Cavill was also asked if he preferred “budgie smugles or swimming shorts”, jokingly – we think – responding: “Definitely, definitely swimming shorts. More like a parrot smugglers. A Macaw or something. Perhaps a large bird of prey. Bald eagle. There you go.”
We’re already counting down the days to the return of those trouser-splitting thighs in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
