Hotel review: Manchester Renaissance
By Joshua Haigh
Manchester has an array of hotels for tourists to stay in, but none quite match up to the Renaissance.
From the get go, you’re given an experience that makes you feel like part of the family. When checking in, the staff are attentive, warm and go out of their way to give you ideas about how to enjoy both the facilities on offer and the city itself to the fullest.
The boutique vibe is stylish and modern, and the rooms are of a size you might be more accustomed to in a five star hotel, despite the Renaissance being a still incredibly comfortable four. There’s a range of rooms available depending on what you need, all the way up to four stunning Junior Suites.
If you’re planning a long stay, then make sure to request a room on one of the upper floors for one of the finest views you could get of the beautiful Northern city.
The rooms supply everything you could possible need, from a coffee machine to a hairdryer, and there’s even complimentary bath salts on offer if you’re looking for the perfect way to put your feet up after a long day trekking around – or a wild night out on Canal Street.
Speaking of Canal Street, Manchester’s iconic LGBT+ epicentre is just a ten-minute journey away on-foot. There’s a wealth of clubs to cater to every music taste imaginable, and you don’t even have to get an uber home. It’s the dream, right? You’d be hard-pressed to find that in London.
With breakfast from 7am to 11am, you’ve got plenty of time to sleep late in the morning and still get your fill to start the day, and the service on offer – much like the front desk – remains top notch.
While everyone was celebrating Pride, the hotel made sure to put on a display documenting the city’s rich LGBT+ history, and they were on-hand to give tips about the best places to watch the legendary parade and experience all the sights and sounds on one of the most joyous weekends of the year.
The people of Manchester are known for their warmth and welcoming attitude, and the Renaissance doesn’t disappoint. We thoroughly recommend it.
