HOW TO: Wear monochrome, in association with StylePilot
By Will Stroude
If you’re averse to wearing colour, then this is the ‘How to’ for you: We promise not to tell you to accentuate anything with bright trim or metallics (though that would be great, just FYI) as we know some of you like to keep it minimal. We’re taking you through the sleek and simple world of monochrome, which is one of the most popular trends this season.
Just because you’re not going for colour doesn’t mean things can’t be kept interesting. Mixed material panelling was all over the catwalk earlier this year and has filtered through to the shops. Thicker stripes work best for this.

You can go fine or bold, floral or geometric, but mix these with a non-patterned, basic piece to keep the look sophisticated.

Roll necks are another popular trend for Autumn/Winter, so pair with chinos or smart trousers in various shades of grey or white. Simple details on the neck line work well to add a little interest.

Graphic is here to stay. Bold panels, severe lines and polarised monochromes give a sports lux feel and also makes a statement. There’s a lot of scope on price on these items at the moment so it doesn’t matter how fat or thin your wallet is, you can still find something for this trend.
