Japanese rockers Bo Ningen star in new McQ AW16 campaign

What’s the latest fashion buzz you ask? Well word has it that McQ Alexander McQueen have launched their new Autumn/Winter 2016 campaign!
The campaign, shot for the second time by photographer Harley Weir, features psychedelic Japanese noise rock band, Bo Ningen and model Greta Varlese.
The campaign cleverly captures the abstract energy of the musicians, hence why the series of portraits see them dressed in looks from both the men’s and women’s collection. This disregard of tradition is a direct correlation to the rebellious, convention breaking kids who both formed the 70s Shinkuku club, and who now partially inspired the new collection.
The band’s guitarist, Yuki Tsujii shared his excitement, stating “it was such an extraordinary experience to be a part of McQ’s campaign. They eagerly collaborate with artists and musicians, whilst keeping the charm of the brand, unlike other conventional houses”.
It is clear that this is just the start of a lasting creative relationship between the brand and band, as Bo Ningen have been seen sporting custom-made McQ looks for several of their European tour dates. The band shared their appreciation, ‘we find wearing McQ’s clothing beautifully expands our performances visually whilst being aesthetically inspiring’.
