Jessie J insists: ‘I’m not a flop’

Jessie J has spoken about the disappointing sales figures of her second album Alive.
The singer’s 2011 debut album Who You Are sold over 1.2m copies in the UK – but follow-up Alive has only shifted 200,000 copies to British pop fans since it came out last September (2013).
Speaking to The Sun, Jessie said: “I’m very aware of how Alive sold, which is why right now I’m working on new music to be put out ASAP.
“I’m a businesswoman as well as an artist and I’m aware Alive didn’t do as well as Who You Are, but that doesn’t mean I’m a flop.”
The 26-year-old then added: “It doesn’t mean I’m not talented. It just means I have to re-evaluate what’s going on in my life and what I can improve. It’s funny that people tell me like I wouldn’t see it. One year Yves Saint Laurent is the biggest-selling clothing line and the next it’s D&G. You can’t be the person at the top all the time.”
Yesterday (April 8), the singer made provocative comments about her sexuality, saying that being bisexual was “a phase” and revealing she is now looking for a husband.
She later took to Twitter to defend herself, insisting: “I never lied about my sexuality, I never labelled myself, the media and some of the public did.”
