Katy B has scored her first Number One album with Little Red.

Little Red, the singer’s follow-up to her 2011 debut On a Mission, enters the UK’s Official Albums Chart in top position today (February 16), the OCC has confirmed.

The album is home to her recent top five hit Crying For No Reason as well as last year’s melancholy club banger 5am.

Katy, 24, who hails from Peckham in south London, recently told Attitude that Little Red is a very different album to her debut.

She said: “My early twenties has definitely been different to when I wrote On a Mission. I was a student then and everything was kind of happening for the first time: falling in love, going out, not having my mum tell me what time to come in anymore – it was like, ‘Whoa, I’ve been let off the leash’.

“Whereas now I’ve moved out of my parents’ house and I’ve had to be a bit more responsible for everything: myself, my house, my career, my relationships, my actions – you know, everything.

“I feel like there’s a lot to work out in life, and I think that’s really what songwriting is for me: it’s sort of working life out, really.”

Former Attitude cover star Ellie Goulding is at number two on this week’s Official Albums Chart with Halcyon, followed by LPs from London Grammar, Beyonce and Avicii.

Over on the Official Singles Chart, Clean Bandit notch up a fourth week at Number One with Rather Be, holding off Zedd and Paramore’s Hayley Williams, whose dance collaboration Stay the Night had led the countdown at the midweek stage, but ends up at number two. Katy B’s Crying For No Reason rebounds from number seven to number five this week.
