Kylie meets Cher impersonator Charlie Hides at Sydney gig

Kylie Minogue treated fans to another tiny last-minute gig last night – this time in Sydney.
Following her surprise set at an East London pub earlier this month (February), the singer gave her Australian fans a slither of advance warning this time, tweeting earlier in the day: “It sounds like The Beresford is the place to be. Who’s gonna join me for some fun? @ThePresets @Stereogamous @DJsveta? #KissMeOnceSydney.”
As promised, the singer sang live for around 300 fans at Sydney pub The Beresford that night – though they only got one song.
Following a DJ set by The Presets, The Guardian reports, Kylie took to the stage to perform her new single Into the Blue. The singer, dressed in a bright red rubber dress, then invited one lucky fan onstage to take a selfie with her, before bidding the crowd farewell.
Backstage at The Beresford, Kylie met cult London-based comic and celebrity impersonator Charlie Hides in person for the first time. Charlie, who performs regularly at London’s Royal Vauxhall Tavern, came dressed as Burlesque-era Cher.
Kylie will release her 12th studio album, Kiss Me Once, on March 17 – click here for our track-by-track review. The single Into the Blue will precede the album on March 9.
