Lacoste team up with BAIT for limited edition trainer collection
By Will Stroude
French sportswear brand Lacoste have teamed up with BAIT, a curated retail space for streetwear brands, to create a very limited-edition trainer. The collaboration re-imagines one of Lacoste’s most classic styles, the iconic Inca shoe, in a premium oiled mambo leather sneaker with heat enhanced embossing techniques.
Partly inspired by Lacoste’s iconic crocodile logo, the shoe features reptilian side panels, with a knitted stretch rib collar for ease of movement. Buttersoft nubuck leather on the vamp and toe-wrap ensure comfort whilst the softshell neoprene construction nods to the classic L.12.12 polo shirt.
It’s a trainer designed with practicality, timelessness and style all in mind – the BAIT logo on the tongue and monochrome palette is testament to this, as is its extremely limited availability.
With only 500 pairs being sold globally, the shoe is as much a collectors item as it is a triumph in design. But at a mere £125, it won’t hurt your bank account – this is premium design for an affordable price.
BAIT, a multi-cultural multi-category retailer, was founded in the USA in 2011 with the goal of selling limited edition products to elite consumers ranging from apparel to footwear. Previous brands to collaborate with BAIT have included Adidas, New Balance and Puma.
The shoes were released globally on November 26th in limited retail destinations. Sold in limited quantity in the UK at Footpatrol / Hanon / End
