Lady Gaga spit-roasted, covered in vomit on stage

Lady Gaga opened her South By South West (SXSW) set on a giant spit roast last night (March 13).

The singer emerged singing Aura from her latest album ARTPOP strapped to a giant spit, being rotated and groped by her dancers as she sang.

Gaga, who will be delivering a keynote speech at the American music and arts conference later today (March 14), performed an eight-song set featuring tracks from ARTPOP plus one of her biggest hits, Bad Romance. 

During her performance of Swine at the festival in Austin, Texas,  Gaga had a backing dancer put her fingers down her throat and vomit a green liquid over the singer as she drummed.

While Gaga is known for her extreme antics on stage, the performance comes as a something of a surprise after she gave an interview with Rolling Stone only a week earlier saying her SXSW set would be “all about the music and the connection with the crowd”.

During the interview, she also said that she wanted “the audience in Austin to see me live in a way I never have before”.
