Lily Allen: ‘My new music is rubbish’
By Sam Rigby
Lily Allen has admitted that her singles since returning to the music industry have been “rubbish”.
Responding to a fan complaint on Twitter, the Hard Out Here singer blamed her record label and radio stations for her single choices.
Fan Reg Wilding tweeted: “@lilyallen’s new music is actually docile pop rubbish. So disappointing. She properly just wrote some rubbish to cash some cheques.”
Lily responded: “what you’ve heard so far yes. All i can do is do my best, the labels and the radio stations won’t play the better stuff.”
The pair’s conversation continued, with Lily urging him to “keep the faith”.
The singer has so far unveiled four tracks from her forthcoming album Sheezus, including Hard Out Here, Air Balloon and L8 CMMR.
Meanwhile, Lily debuted her latest single Our Time earlier this week, alongside a new music video.
Sheezus will be released on May 5.
