Listen to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s new single ‘Love Is A Camera’
By Sam Rigby
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has confirmed that she will release Love Is A Camera as her next single.
The singer will release the track as the third single from her latest album Wanderlust, which became her first UK Top 10 album since 2007’s Trip The Light Fantastic.
Sophie will film the video for Love Is A Camera in Florence with longtime collaborator Sophie Muller.
She will release the song on June 23 as the follow-up to previous singles Young Blood and Runaway Daydreamer.
Speaking to Attitude about the song earlier this year, Sophie said: “It’s about a spooky old woman who lives in a house on the hill and if she takes your photograph it traps your soul behind glass.
“It was inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poems and other folk stories and Russian fairytales. I always picture Emily Dickinson with that song.”
Meanwhile, she will also embark on a new six-date UK tour in September, with a show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on October 1.
