By Attitude Magazine

The London Titans FC, an LGBT football team based throughout London, are putting out a call for new players from across the sexuality spectrum.

The club will two open training sessions for potential recruits, this Sunday and the next (August 2 and 9), in Old Deer Park, Richmond, TW9 2SF.

The Titans pride themselves on offering a safe, stimulating and friendly space for players of all abilities and backgrounds across the sexuality and gender spectrum. Interested players should come along to the open training sessions and get a taste for life with the team.

The Titans are one of the country’s most active and successful LGBT football clubs, having reached the second tier final of the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association’s (IGLFA) European Championship this summer, as previous champions of the Gay Football Supporters’ Network’s (GFSN) National League and winners of the recent Brighton Lesbian and Gay Sports Society (BLAGSS) tournament against teams from across the country. They also enter two teams, London Titans 2 Brewers and XXL London Titans, in the weekly London Unity League (LUL) made up of LGBT football teams across the capital.

As with many LGBT sports clubs, the social aspect of London Titans FC is one of the club’s proudest achievements. With regular socials, post-match drinks, charity events, dedicated club nights, a whole lot of banter, and international trips, the club has brought together a network of players from across the capital into an active LGBT footballing community.

Joining the team brings regular opportunities to travel across the country to compete in GFSN competition, alongside upcoming international tournaments in Portland and Helsinki. New players will also have the chance to compete against teams from across Europe later this year in the Titans Birthday Tournament 2015 on October 31, to mark the club’s 10th anniversary.

The Titans hold training sessions each week on Wednesday evenings in Old Deer Park, Richmond during the summer months, before switching to an alternative winter location as daylight hours shorten. Sportsman’s League and LUL matches are played most Sundays across London, with home games being held in Clapham, Wandsworth and Barnes; all locations easily commutable from Central London.

Potential new players interested in joining London Titans FC for the upcoming season should come along to the open training sessions being held this Sunday and the next (2 and 9 August) from 12-2pm in Old Deer Park, TW9 2SF, on the pitches directly behind the SpringHealth Leisure Centre. Look out for the London Titans FC banner, or contact enquiries@londontitans.com to arrange for someone to meet you at Richmond train station. Interested players should come along in training kit, football boots (grass) and weather appropriate clothing.

Players should register their interest by clicking attend on the London Titans FC – Open Day Facebook event. For more information head to londontitans.com or contact Club Manager, Phil Steer at manager@londontitans.com.
