Madonna: ‘I’ve recorded so many great songs this week’

Madonna has teased fans by saying she and Avicii have recorded “so many great songs” together.

The Queen of Pop revealed that she was working on new music with the Swedish DJ/producer last week (March 8), and earlier this morning (March 13) she shared the picture of the pair that appears to the right on Instagram. Her caption reads: “The End of a long week with Viking Leader AKA DJ Virgo AKA Avicii! So many great songs! #icantwait#revolution.”

She then posted another picture of herself with Avicii and a group of musicians she dubbed “My Viking Harem!”.  In the picture, which appears below, Madonna is seen rocking her signature fingerless gloves and is holding a guitar.

Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, scored one of the biggest hits of 2013 with chart-topping single Wake Me Up! and also stormed the top five last year with Hey Brother and You Make Me. He previously remixed Madonna’s 2012 single Girl Gone Wild.

Last month (February) Madonna confirmed she was working on a new album, telling reporters at the launch of her latest gym: “Yes, plans are in the works already. Don’t ask me with who — it’s a secret. Top secret.”

Madonna’s last studio album, MDNA, was released in 2012 and reached Number One in the US and UK. She scored her 13th and most recent UK chart-topping single with 4 Minutes in 2008.
