Madonna teams up with Disclosure for new album?
By Nick Levine
Madonna could be working on new music with UK dance duo Disclosure.
Earlier today (June 6), the Queen of Pop Instagrammed a close-up picture of the trendy pair – brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence – at their DJ gig in Brooklyn, New York last night (June 5), with the caption: “Doing a little. Security work on the side for Disclosure……..shure is Hawt in here!” See the picture below.
Disclosure’s debut album Settle, a dance collection with elements of house, electro-pop and UK garage, debuted at Number One on the UK’s Official Albums Chart last June (2013), and included the hit singles White Noise, Latch – which featured vocals from Sam Smith – and You & Me.
In recent months, Madonna has used Instagram to reveal the diverse palette of collaborators she has assembled for her new album – which now comprises Sky Ferreira/Haim producer Ariel Rechtshaid, Wrecking Ball co-writer MoZella, MIA collaborator Diplo, DJ/producer Avicii, former Lady Gaga collaborator Martin Kierszenbaum, cult pop singer Natalia Kills, US hit-maker Toby Gad and R&B producer Symbolyc One.
Madonna fans will now be keeping a close eye on Instagram to see whether she posts any pictures of herself and Disclosure in the recording studio.
Back in April, photographer Mert Alas sparked rumours that Madonna’s new album was already finished when he said he was listening to it, but it is clear from a host of Madonna’s recent Instagram posts that she is still working on new material.
Last month (May), she appeared to tease a new single called Unapologetic Bitch, and has used the #unapologeticbitch hashtag repeatedly on Instagram.
Madonna’s last studio album, MDNA, was released in 2012 and reached number one in the US and UK. She scored her 13th and most recent UK chart-topping single with 4 Minutes in 2008.
Meanwhile, Tori Amos recently covered Madonna’s classic ballad Frozen during a live show in Amsterdam – click here to watch Amos’s stripped down version of the song.
