Meet the Male Supermodel: Brian Shimansky at Established Models

We’ve got a snippet of the interview with American supermodel Brian Shimansky. Born in New jersey, he has modelled for practically every big named photographer including Steven Klein, Mert & Marcus and Mariano Vivanco.

Where were you discovered?
In New Jersey, walking into a John Mayer gig.
What do you want to do once you’ve finished modelling? Has anything along the way or anyone inspired you?
I love building furniture and will continue to do so. I’ve begun to study the works of John Lautner, Thomas Heatherwick, and George Nakashima.
You’ve worked with the best of the best. What’s it like working with the likes of Mert & Marcus and Steven Klein?
It’s exciting, challenging, and fun. Their concepts have great intensity and their work ethics drive you to perform.
Outside of fashion, who inspires you and why?
My family; they always remind me to work hard and do what I love.
Do you feel pressure to keep in shape?
It comes with the territory, but you learn to manage it. Coming from a college athletic program made it easier.
Do you have a vice? If so what is it?
Macaroons and espresso, I could go all day.
What are you always getting into trouble for?
Wandering off and rough housing.
